Gutted I was not able to see Rush live for one last time on the recent R40 tour but they continue to inspire me and The Seventh Seal wouldn’t have been written without them….

The idea of multiple universes is well established science and from the moment I began to skim the surface of understanding my imagination ran wild. I began the planning for this book a long time ago and there have been many false starts and dead ends I’ve travelled down, but luckily (or I wouldn’t have finished!) there were moments throughout the long process that moved it forward considerably. One of them was on a flight in Australia watching a programme on Issac Newton and alchemy which sparked some neurons and suddenly threads of my story found connecting paths. It came, as fate would have it, at a similar time to reading several books on quantum physics and the hiatus surrounding the search for the Higgs Boson; so the science of the book was born. The regulus, which in alchemy, is a metallic component refined from an ore, became my Higgs Field, an energy field that exists everywhere and connects everything and allows….well you’d better read the book for that 🙂
